Marriage Info & Costs
Saint Lucia does not have a Residency Period, making it an ideal destination for Caribbean vacations. Couples can obtain marriage licenses within 24 hours of arrival with a same-day Marriage License Application. For those opting for the Regular Marriage License, the couple is required to spend two days in Saint Lucia prior to their wedding. It’s important to note that laws, fees, and requirements are subject to change.
DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN MARRIAGE LICENSE:
- A Valid Passport
- A Birth Certificate
- If either applicant has been divorced, the Original or Certified Copy of the Divorce Decree is required as proof.
- If either applicant is widowed, the Original or Certified Copy of the Marriage and Death Certificates of the deceased spouse are required.
- If either applicant is under the age of 18 years, a sworn certified affidavit of consent stamped and signed by a Notary Public is necessary.
- If the applicant does not understand or speak English, or if the documentation is not in English, an authentic translator must be provided.
2. APPLICABLE MARRIAGE FEES AND COST:
Notarial and registration fees apply, with the marriage certificate license costing a regular charge of $335 Eastern Caribbean Currency (approximately $127.00 USD). For express or same-day notarial services, the fee is $540 Eastern Caribbean Currency (about $204.00 USD).
